What does “SSRI” mean?

0

It’s an acronym for “Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors”. It refers to an entire class of drugs which supposedly rectify a “chemical imbalance” in your brain. I say “supposedly” because no one knows what a proper “balance” is. The class of drugs include Prozac, Paxil, Zoloft, Effexor, Luvox, and Celexa. It is our belief that this entire class of drugs increases the risk of violence/suicide for a “small vulnerable subpopulation” of patients.
