What does SOS Animal Rescue do?
SOS Animal Rescue has three main areas of focus. The first area is education. We provide information and education to local pet owners and the public about animal related issues, including pet care, responsible pet ownership and the status of animal welfare in Midland County. The second area is adoption and placement. We take animals from the local shelter when their time has run out and provide them temporary foster care until a permanent family can be found. The animals that come into foster care are given all veterinary care and the foster homes spend time with the animals to help identify what type of owner would be best suited for each pet. Finally, SOS provide spay/neuter assistance for low income Midland county residence. Spaying and Neutering is the only long term soluntion to the pet overpopulation problem, so this program is incredibly important to realizing our goal of a happy, healthy home for every pet.
