What does Social Entrepreneurship mean at Tulane?
Building upon of our strengths in civic engagement and service learning, Tulane is developing a University-wide, interdisciplinary program in Social Entrepreneurship that will focus on solution oriented thinking, integrating theory and practice, and stimulating research across fields to better understand and create new models for social change. The concept of social entrepreneurship is distinctively aligned with Tulane University’s cornerstone ideals – education, research and community service. A national leader in civic engagement and among the top 20 schools in the United States for entrepreneurial studies, Tulane University possesses the faculty and the infrastructure to marry these strengths and create the only social entrepreneurship undergraduate major at a major research university. The program will help instill in our students the value of social entrepreneurship in creating sustainable social change, and it will equip them with the expertise and the skills needed to take those
