What does SME & OEE mean in manufacturing?

0

Hi – SME means Small / Medium Enterprise and is a term used in manufacturing and other industries alike. It basically means what it says – small or medium sized companies (i.e, companies that if they fail, will not have a big impact on the economy / stock market). It could also stand for Society for Manufacturing Engineers which im sure you can find out a lot about from the internet (I cant say i know much about them!) OEE is a more manufacturing related term – meaning Overall Equipment Efficiency. This means how well all the equipment is being used to produce the optimum output of products – i.e. Is the manufacturing process producing the most amount of products through its equipment at the best possible price?
