What does skin pigmentation lead to?
This condition causes blotches and pale brown skin, which appears on the cheeks & nose and sometimes on your forehead too. In dark-skinned people, such patches appear lighter than the surrounding skin. It gives rise to freckles on your skin. Freckles are localized deposits of melanin-brown, round or oval pigmented areas on the skin. They occur most often in people with fair skin. The tendency to freckles is usually inherited and they become more numerous and darker in the sun. Freckled skin is often delicate and must be protected from the sun.
