What does SEER mean on proposals and in advertising?
A. SEER is Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio.Very simply, the higher the SEER rating, the less expensive the system is to operate. A minimum SEER rating is 13, a maximum can be as high as 19 or 20 depending on the make and model of a system. There are some things you should know about changing out a portion of your system. Adding a new condensing unit to your old air handler or furnace will not make a high efficiency system and will not reduce your electric bill. Both components must be changed to change the SEER – the efficiency of your system.
