What does SEER And HSPF mean?

A. SEER or Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio relates to the measure of efficiency of which the cooling process of your A/C system and heat pumps are rated. Meaning the higher the “SEER” the higher the SEER number the greater the efficiency, which ultimately translate to big savings to you on your overall energy costs. As of 1992, government standards set forth a measurement which mandated that an A/C system have a minimum “SEER” rating of at least 10.0. For a system to be considered “high efficient”, your system must have a “SEER” rating of 13.0 -21 “SEER”. HSPF or Heating Seasonal Performance Factor relates to the measurement of efficiency used to gauge the efficiency of the heating mode of heat pumps. Like the “SEER” rating the higher the number the greater the efficiency, the more money you save. A high efficient “HSPF” should be 6.8-9.4HSPF.
