What does secure email offer?
Secure e-mail means that your login information and email messages are sent to and from our server in an encrypted format which prevents people from “hijacking” the information. However, emails to and from our server to other servers may still be sent in an unencrypted format depending on the capabilities of the sending/receiving email server. Certificate Warnings When you connect to the secure e-mail system, you may receive a certificate warning. This is because the servers “host name” does not match that of mail.example.com (where example.com is your main domain name) which is your mail server name. This isn’t actually a security issue (as the connection is still encrypted), but some email clients do complain about this mis-match. If you are using Mozilla Thunderbird for email, you may want to use the https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/2131/ “Remember Mismatched Domains” plugin – for Outlook and Outlook Express, you may need to change the Mail Server name to the hostname of the serve
