What does “sealed to IP54 standards” mean?

0

International protection (“IP”) rating refers to the level of protection that an electronic device provides against dust and water. The XP Series’ IP54 rating means that the unit has been tested by an independent, third-party laboratory and certified to be “dust protected” and “water splashing against the enclosure from any direction has no harmful effect”. Consumer devices or devices described as “durable” are not subjected to such testing.
