What does Schweitzer Built offer?
We offer a unique “owner-builder” program to build your home in the South Lake Tahoe area. You pay a set, pre-determined amount, and we build your home. All other costs are paid (at actual cost) by you the owner. The amount spent on your home is directly controlled by you. The fee most general contractors earn is typically based on the difference between the accepted “bid price” for the project and the actual building costs. This may not be in your best interest as owner of that home project. When you expect someone to guarantee you a firm price, it’s only fair to also expect that they must ensure enough padding on the hard costs so as to not lose money.
