What does Schedule Castes and Scheduled Tribes mean?
According to this Act Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes shall have the meaning assigned to them respectively under clause (24) and clause (25) of Article 366 of the Constitution of India. These castes have been notified in the First Schedule, Section 3, The Constitution (Scheduled Castes Order, 1950).
