What does run and gun and pick and roll mean?
run and gun= a team that always uses a fastbreak strategy; 2-4 guys run down the court waiting from a pass from the rebounder, or the outlet guy; after the pass is made, his teammates and him go for a fastbreak score pick and roll= player A (usually a power forward or a center) makes a screen for player B (a point guard); player B runs by the screen so the player guarding him is caught in the screen; the result is that the guy guarding player B and the guy guarding player A both guard player A, leaving player B to run to the hoop wide open after the screen is completed; as soon as player B starts running towards the hoop, player A will pass it to him and he will either dunk it or lay the ball up clutch= one team is just down one or two points against another team with time running out (less than 30 secs usually); a player on either team scores to put their team farther ahead or to catch up/take the lead is called clutch since he performed well under pressure
