What does research say about progress in tutoring?
Research about the effects of tutoring has been positive. Two classic studies are cited below. Spache (1981) showed that students progressed two months for every month of tutoring and Klenk & Kibby (2000) found that students with reading disabilities who received specific tutoring learned at a faster rate with tutoring than average students without tutoring.
