What does “Reformed” mean in Bethel Reformed?
Many churches belong to a larger group of churches often called a denomination. Our denomination is called the Reformed Church in America. The denomination helps to support the ministry of our church by providing accountability, structure, resources and support for our programs and activities. The word ‘Reformed’ also points to our history and beliefs. The Reformed Church has its background in a movement to renew the church in the 16th century. This renewal movement emphasized the Bible alone as the source of the church’s teachings and beliefs, salvation as God’s gift that we receive in Jesus Christ, and that every Christian person has a gift or ability that can help the church in its ministry.
