What does re-establishing a Main street meeting place once again mean?
The ability to create new uses for the government/public locations. Today the people coming to the Town/Village Building are coming for typical government business. The upper level could be used to help our local economy grow by giving people other reasons to visit this location at nights or weekends and provide the opportunity for visitors to frequent nearby businesses. Special exhibits in the main entry way can be used for multiple purposes and provide people with a central location for information on all community activities. This entry way may be open for extended hours based on demand. Some things we might exhibit are: Local School activities Local Tourism and County events Geneseo History exhibits Local Art from Artists, Students, Teachers, etc. Exhibits from the Chamber of Commerce, GUMA, APOG, etc By digitizing the historical records we can generate more traffic from students, teachers and genealogy or historical enthusiasts who want to look over the available computer files on
