Qualitative measure is looking at something for it’s features. This is in contrast to a “quantitative” measure, in which some definite number is assigned to the observation. For example, looking at a flower and saying that it is blue and healthy is a qualitative observation. Saying that it is 5 inches tall is a quantitative observation.
