What does “postmarked no later than May 1” mean?
It means that Nicholl entries must be postmarked or date-stamped by the postal or delivery service on or before May 1. Online applicants who plan to submit a printed copy of their script must complete the application process early enough to be able to take their script to the post office or delivery service before the last pickup on May 1. If May 1 is a holiday affecting postal services in your country, you should make plans to send your entry no later than April 30. Electronic submissions must be completed at or before 11:59 p.m. PT on May 1.
