What does placenta posterior low mean?

0

Posterior means the placenta is laying towards the back, rather than the front. And a Lo placenta is unlikely to harm your baby but could mean you have to have a cesarean section to make sure it doesn’t get in the way whilst giving birth naturally. Very often placentas can move though during pregnancy.

No the low placenta wont harm the baby, but when it comes time to deliver your baby, you are at higher risk of needing a cesarean. Because of the placenta being low, it might get delivered first, often causing excessive bleeding. Just take it very easy in the last few months of your pregnancy, your midwives may want to monitor you more often than usual, but try not to worry, the things they can do these days are amazing! Good luck!
