What does PL believe about abortion?
An abortion is normally the personal decision of a woman, but if she has a partner, then it should be a joint decision. However, that being said, it should be avoided as much as possible by people being careful in their sexual relations. With care it should not be as necessary as it now seems to be. However, we do not believe a foetus is a true human being. In PL we believe a person becomes a true human being at birth. What we mean is that the soul enters the body at birth. For this reason, we do not place the same importance on a foetus as we do on a child. Nevertheless, we do not advocate the liberal use of abortions and believe that better sexual education and contraception could reduce the present number of abortions.
