What does PDE Failure on a PT200 mean?

0

PDE is ‘Position Determination Engine (or Entity)’. Some devices, such as the Sendum PT200, require a PDE to determine location and cannot generate a position without a PDE. If you see a “PDE Failure” message, this means that the device cannot determine its location or cannot report it. Most likely, the device is out of PDE coverage (e.g., Sprint coverage). It could also be out of regular cellular packet data coverage range.
