What does Papal Infallibility mean in simple words?
A. 1. It means that when the Pope proclaims a dogma in unity with the individual bishops from around the world, they being united among themselves and under the elected Roman Catholic Pope, and they all agree on a single matter of faith and moral that must be taught and held by all members of the Catholic Church, then such a dogma is infallible. The Pope’s personal opinion on any matter that does not meet the above conditions is NOT infallible. In other words, if the Pope was to express his personal opinion regarding an alleged apparition at a Marian site, the Pope’s comment may be contrary to the truth. The alleged apparitions may be disapproved by the local Bishop at a later date, such an apparition having been fabricated by the alleged seers for the sole purpose of monetary gains, or for any other reason.
