What does Pangaea mean?
Pangaea was the name of the original Supercontinent from 200 million years ago. During that time, all of the continents were connected to form a single land-mass, and then the continents started to break up to form the world as we know it today. Back to top Why did you choose the name The Pangaea Project? The name was chosen because the founders wanted to start a program that promoted global unity. We chose a name that reflected the fact that that the world once was one, and before the continents split apart, the world was connected and complete. Our program emphasizes the connections that we all have as human beings, regardless of our race, culture, ethnicity or religion. Pangaea is based on the notion that if we can become more real to each other through direct contact, human compassion will flourish and the world will be one again.
