What does PACS stand for?
PACS stands for Picture Archiving and Communication System. PACS systems provide the abilty to acquire, share, store, and display images using computers. The PACS acronym came out of radiology departments but “PACS” is now sometimes used to refer to healthcare related image management systems regardless of whether they involve radiology. IQbase would be an example of the software component of a PACS.
