What does packet writing mean?
Packet write is a method whereby several write events are allowed within a single track. These packets are bounded by 7 blocks for run-in (4), run-out (2) and link (1). This method is best suited for recording small amounts of data. Because of its flexibility packet writing will probably emerge as the dominant method of recording. The Mitsumi CR Series CD-R drive supports the packet writing method.
