What Does Obsolete Mean?
Obsolete simply put means “old or archaic.” There are many synonyms of the word obsolete: ancient, outdated, outmoded, old-fashioned, etc. A thing can be obsolete in terms of content, style or construction. Something which is not in use in the present and probably may not be in the future too is known as “obsolete.” In the parlance of Biology, “obsolete” refers to “improperly developed or vestigial.” An organ or a part of a plant or animal which is not developed to the extent it is developed in other related species is called as “obsolete.
