What does nearside lower brake component mean on an SV650?

Well, nearside means the left of the bike when sitting on it and offside means the right side. These terms usually are applied to horses but I suppose they would apply to bikes as well. You always mount a horse from the nearside and I always get on my bike from the nearside. The “lower brake component” bit sounds odd but it could only really apply to brake pads. There’s not much else that could be worn. I wonder what the upper brake component is? Overall, it sounds like your bike just needs new front brake pads. Why they couldn’t just write that in plain english is beyond me…..
