What does “NCAA Clearinghouse” mean?
The NCAA houses its own “initial – eligibility Clearinghouse”, which is responsible for the awarding of eligibilities. In order to be allowed to play in the NCAA I or II you must have registered. The Clearinghouse decides based on your SAT/ACT results and academic performance whether you are eligible or not. Currently the NCAA charges $75 – for registration. The Clearinghouse also answers questions concerning the length of you eligibility and in general serves as the final authority when it comes to eligibility.
