“Native” over-the-air synchronization of email, calendar, contacts and tasks between Blackberry devices requires a BES. Native in this respect means you use the built-in software, without any additional software for your Blackberry device, nor the Blackberry device’s web browser. Email synchronization means “full” sync, including sent mail, and for example, when you read a message on your Blackberry, it shows as read in your inbox in Zimbra, and also in any desktop mail software you may be using, such as Outlook, Apple Mail, and Thunderbird.
