What Does NASW Do for Social Workers?
NASW Offers Continuing Education Programs Every year the chapter offers workshops, conferences and homestudy programs on a wide range of clinical issues for beginning and experienced clinicians. NASW members pay an average of 50% less than non-member social workers who attend these programs. NASW Works to Protect and Increase Social Work Jobs and Salaries NASW works with state officials, the legislature, and agency administrators to protect social work jobs, increase social work salaries, and seek comparable pay for social workers. The Chapter provides information and consultation to individual social workers and agencies about social work salaries and benefits. The Chapter’s Workplace Issues Committee and Board of Directors have approved a workplace standards document which establishes standards of practice for workplaces striving to maintain the related goals of delivery of effective services and a humane work environment.
