The Michelson Morely Experiment involved “racing” two beams of light and their interference pattern was detected. The interference pattern observed was quite consistent and no irregular pattern was observed. This proves that light travelled at the same speed and therefore the aether must not exist. This was later stated by einstein that aether is not needed and is therefore irrelevant.
