As Chicago’s beloved Michael Jordan blows out the candles on his birthday cake Wednesday, his wish will likely be to become majority owner of the Charlotte Bobcats as soon as possible. Though Jordan, who turned 47 Wednesday, played with the Chicago Bulls for 12 years, he grew up in North Carolina and is already a partial owner of the Charlotte Bobcats. On Tuesday, however, WGN reported that he was looking to gain majority control of the team: NBA commission David Stern apparently expects a deal for the team to be completed within the next couple months. Charlotte coach Larry Brown told the Associated Press that Jordan is doing all he can to buy majority control of the Bobcats from owner Bob Johnson. “He said he’s doing his best to put himself in a position to get the team,” Brown told the AP.
