What does Lamentations say?
Lamentation means cry of sorrow. The book of Lamentations is Jeremiahs cry of sorrow because the Babylonians had captured Israel. The poems in Lamentations are carefully written acrostics. Each chapter has 22 verses (except chapter 3 which has 66 3 times 22). There are 22 letters in the Hebrew alphabet, and the 22 verses each start with all the letters in alphabetical order. You cant see that in the English translation.
