What Does Lamentation Mean?
Lamentation or Lament is a term that is used in music. It is said to be a poem or a song that expresses a lot of pain, regret, grief, angst, misery, sorrow or mourning. It is said that many of the oldest poems in that have been written in human history were pure laments. Laments have been present in both the Odyssey and the Iliad. It is also present in various manuscripts like the Hindu Vedas. Laments are also found in very old Near Eastern religious writings. Laments have been one of the oldest arts in writing music. Lamentation also represents the live Album, DVD released by the death metal band from Sweden called Opeth. It was a concert which was held at Shepherd Bush Empire in the year 2003. The DVD features a live show and also documentaries on two of their albums titled ‘Deliverance’ and ‘Damnation’.
