What does K12 mean, on skateboard deck sizes?!
What does K12 mean, on skateboard deck sizes?! Monday October 12, 2009 received this e-mail – “I know nothing about it and am trying to figure out size/shape terminology. What does it mean when a board says it is “7.37 143-k13”. I have searched the web to try and find out what all of the above means without any luck. I know the “7.37” is the width of the board but the “143-k13″ is still a mystery to me.” This is a great question! A lot of online skate shops just shove numbers and letters at you, and expect you to either know what that means, or assume that those numbers and letters = awesomeness. If you see K13 or K12, and numbers like this, then most likely you are looking at a skateboard from the Skate One family (Powell, Golden Dragon, MiniLogo, Positiv…). The K-number part refers to the concave, and the other number to the board’s shape! Take a look at this
