What does it take to become a top Division 1 college goaltender today?
Lots of hard work and determination and being mentally tough. Do you believe the position should be played and taught the same for both men and women? I am a very strong believer that the position should be taught the same for both men and women. How did you end up at North Carolina? Any recruiting tips for high school players? I was one of their top recruits, and it was between me and another goalie. We were both athletic and played midfield in high school. They wanted us both to commit and whoever didn’t win the job would have played midfield. I instantaneously fell in love with the campus and wanted to be a Tar Heel, and the other recruit decided not to come. The game has grown so much that there are so many players now that coaches are looking at. You need to “market” yourself.
