What does it offer Joel that his 90cc two-stroke-powered race quad can’t?
This motor is basically the baby brother to the CRF450. It’s very similar and looks like a smaller version of it. It has the same characteristics. Eventually, we’re going to go to the TRX450R engine and it will help him in his maturation process and let him get ready for when he turns 16. The power curve is different on this quad. The four-stroke is nice because he can be on and off the gas and has more engine braking than the two-stroke. On his old two-stroke, he was always riding with the throttle pinned! Plus, it takes time to go from a two-stroke to a four-stroke. Riding this CRF150 now will help eliminate that learning curve. When I started building the minis, we were already doing full-size stuff. It really started when I took a mini and put a bunch of full-size parts on it to improve the overall ride and durability.
