What does it mean when my meter displays a “CLEAN TEST AREA” message?
• There is dirt, blood, or lint on the test area. • Your hand or an object covered the test area while the meter was activated. • The test strip was inserted before “INSERT STRIP” appeared on the display. • The test area may be damaged if alcohol was used to clean the meter. Clean the test area and repeat the blood glucose test, keeping test area clear of obstructions. If alcohol was used to clean the meter, or if the “CLEAN TEST AREA” message continues, call your local LifeScan Customer Services (in the U.S.: 800 227-8862) for assistance.
