I presume you’re asking why your protein levels might be high. (1) Since your potassium is low, is it possible that you’ve been vomiting or having diarrhea (or taking laxatives, diuretics), in which case maybe you’re volume depleted and hemoconcentrated? Is your albumin also high? Is your hemoglobin high (or highER than on previous blood tests)? (2) If it is really elevated, could be polyclonal (liver disease, viral hepatitis, HIV) or monoclonal (myeloma). In summary, would talk to your doctor, who ordered the test.
