What does it mean when I see a privacy certification like TRUSTe or BBBOnline on a Web site?
A privacy certification is a disclosure statement that says the site abides by the privacy assurance standards set by the organization whose name is on the certification. If you believe the site doesnt live up to the standards promised by its privacy policy and the certification, you are often encouraged to report the site to the certification authority.
