There is an official Grading & Classification process available through the Scottish Tourist Board (now VisitScotland) for Hotels, Guest Houses, B&B’s, Self-Catering properties etc. However, their assessment is very strict and, as it is NOT mandatory, some owners do not register for this. TIP To be guaranteed of quality, ask the properties you are considering whether or not they have a Star grading. We have a Four Star Self-Catering award.
