What does it mean to change permissions/CHMOD?

Change permissions/CHMOD basically means that you need to change the permissions on a folder or file so that the script can access/modify it. The way to do this in most FTP programs is to right-click on the file, and select Properties, CHMOD or FTP Commands > CHMOD, and then either type in the number or check certain boxes.
