The others have it right. In a “right to work state” if you are employed in a union shop you cannot be forced to join the union as a condition of employment. And no, Ohio is not a “right to work state”, we are fortunate to have strong unions here. Personally, I am pro labor/ pro union. But I’ll spare you the lengthy blog unless you want to hear it.
