What does it mean to be a Peace Games Volunteer?
Volunteers make a year – or semester – long commitment to work in small teams to teach children the essential skills of peacemaking and non-violence through the interactive Peace Games curriculum. Volunteers prepare for and teach a one hour class once a week. Peace Games teaches students in kindergarten through eighth grade. In the spring, volunteers will join their students in creating a community service learning project. There will be opportunities to celebrate and share what they’ve learned with other Peace Games students across the city. Volunteers are given the opportunity to reflect on their experience and develop teaching skills.
