What does it mean to be a human being in the Hindu tradition?

Just that – a human being. Unlike the Desert Messianic Faiths of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, the Sanathana Dharma or Universal Path does not have Man given Dominion over all other Creatures by God. Man is just a human being who has to live in Harmony with all other Creatures of the World. That is easier said than done, though. Achieving just this much is the first step to going on to understanding the full meaning of “Aham Brahmasmi” I am the Eternal Spirit that lives in All. Once you can achieve that, maybe, you can go on to the greater Philosophies.
