Currently all 66 of the general Medicare-approved drug discount card sponsors provide discounts on the top 100 drugs used by people over 65 years.* Please refer to the table below for a list of the top 100 drugs. An open or a closed formulary indicates the likelihood that a particular Medicare-approved drug discount card sponsor will provide a discount on a larger list of drugs. A formulary is simply the list of drugs discounted by a particular Medicare-approved drug discount card sponsor. Currently the range of openness of formularies across all 66 general Medicare-approved drug discount card sponsors ranges from 64% to 94%. This simply means that the sponsor(s) with the 94% open formulary may be more likely to provide a discount on any new drugs that may be prescribed for you compare to the sponsor(s) with the 64% open formulary.
