What does it mean that the Scholar Program uses a portfolio as a basis for evaluation?

0

Beginning in Spring 2007, each student compiles designated assignments and organizes them into a three-ring notebook over the entire length of the Program. From the first essay in the Scholar Seminar to the final reflective evaluation at the end, full record of personal achievement will be available as witness to the student himself or herself, and to any other appropriate evaluator. Portfolios will be used as the basis for grade evaluations in the Research and Thesis seminars and overall for such accreditation visitors as the New England Association of Schools and Colleges. Required entries for the portfolios are indicated in the Course Schema (PDF).
