This means that a limited number of students are admitted to each program, and then they go through the entire program together. Usually the cohorts are anywhere from 8-20 people. The curriculum is set in a very thought-through sequence, and students pass through the curriculum together. This facilitates in-depth interaction and in-depth relationships.
