What does it mean, SEER rating?
SEER stands for “Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio”. This rating scale indicates how efficiently the equipment uses electricity to give you the comfort you desire. A higher SEER rating means that piece of equipment is more efficient to operate than one with a lower SEER rating. As of January 2006, the federal government mandates that all residential air conditioners sold in the United States must have a SEER rating of at least 13. ENERGY STAR qualified systems must have a SEER rating of at least 14.
