What does it mean if I’m selected for verification?
The U.S. Department of Education selects 30 percent of all FAFSAs for verification. Selection is either random or due to questionable information. The financial aid office at the college where you sent the information is responsible for the ensuring the FAFSA data is accurate. Once selected for verification, you must submit a verification worksheet and signed copies of your and your parents’ federal tax returns.
