What does it mean if Im placed on TMF?
Also known as the Terminated Merchant File (TMF), merchants that are placed on TMF have violated their merchant contract with their processor. Common reasons for a merchant to be placed on TMF are excessive chargeback activity, fraud, laundering, activity resulting in a financial loss to their processor to name a few. MasterCard and Visa maintain the TMF database that is accessed by all processors. Once a merchant has been placed on TMF, obtaining processing services can be extremely difficult.
